Vivienne's 18th

What can I say about Vivienne? Hmmm... she's one of the most down-to-earth person I have ever met! If you think she's beautiful on the outside... she's much more beautiful on the inside! She's smart... She's fun... She's kind...

During her birthday party... her friends and relatives spoke about Vivienne... and to tell you the truth, I have never seen so many people... with so many nice things to say about her! She has countless friends! Every single message was full of heartfelt  appreciation... to the genuine love and friendship that Vivienne shares with everyone.

It was such an honour for me to have met this beautiful young lady... and to have been part of a wonderful celebration... :)

Maddison

Meet 'Maddy'. She's my high school friend's daughter... I had a photoshoot with Maddy on her 2nd birthday. She's absolutely gorgeous! Absolutely adorable! She's so cheeky too! She runs so quick... and does not get tried... So much energy for a 2 year old!

La Familia...

This family is one of my earliest clients... These photos were taken about 10 months ago... They have such gorgeous kids! I really like the younger one's hair... as it reminds me of Guy Sebastian's hair back when he was just starting with his music career. We actually named our 1st son after Guy Sebastian... Well, we didn't name him "Guy", instead we named him "Sebastian" :)

The first photo posted below is my all-time favourite... Sweet-sweet-shot... :)

My Best Friend's Wedding

My best buddy David... got married to Kim in March last year.  Naturally, I was his Best Man... Even though technically, I pushed him to get his brother as his Best Man... hehe He wasn't my Best Man on my wedding... but that's because even though we knew each other back when I got married... we weren't as close as we are now... He's now my 'brother from another mother'. :)

Anyway... I really wanted to take photos of David and Kim during their wedding, but it was kinda hard because I was part of the wedding entourage. Plus, there was an official photographer, so I didn't wanna get in his way. At the end... I couldn't help it. I brought my camera along... and 'clicked' every now and then while the official photographer was trying to figure out his next move.

Here are the results of those 'stolen' shots...

PS. Down the bottom, you'll see a couple of photos of their recently born daughter 'Mikaela Rose'. She's sooooo gorgeous! She got her mother's genes! hehe

It's not about the things that you see... but rather how you see things...

I can't remember where I read that quote from... It's talks about photography... And how photography is an art of observation... It is about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... Photography has very little to do with the things that we see... but rather, it has everything to do with "how we see things" and how we present them through the photographs we take...

 The photo above I titled "Unnoticed". It was an autumn morning, I parked my car near my wife's work... when I dropped my car keys as I opened the door... I looked at these leaves... all bunched up together... and I thought... nobody really notices them... I mean they're just dead leaves... Well, luckily I had my camera with me... so I got down on my knees... CLICK! Now... they're no longer 'unnoticed'.

===
The one above I called "Branches". Well, it's self-explanatory really. This was taken at Williamstown here in Victoria during winter last year. I just looked up... and there it was! CLICK!

===

"Simplicity" - This shot was taken while my wife and I took Sebastian for a walk at a nearby creek. It was late afternoon and the sun was about to set... But there was still a bit of sunlight... I noticed these grasses... and I just love the way the remaining sunlight hits them... as they sway gracefully against the soft afternoon breeze...

===

"Lovers Quarrel" - This was taken at Altona Pier. I was with Sebastian... we went to the pier to check out whether the anglers at the end of the pier caught anything. On the way back... we saw these 2 pigeons... They look like they're courting each other... In fact... I imagined that the pigeon puling away was saying "You only tell me you love me, when you want something!!!" hahaha

===

This is part of my "The Colours of Autumn" series... Unfortunately, it isn't here in my blog. Autumn is my favourite season when it comes to photography. I think you can tell why...

===

"Supercharged" - Taken one morning... YES, MORNING! This was taken last year during one of those 40 degree Celsius days... It was so hot the morning looked like afternoon already!

===

"It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for something you are not."

===
"12 years and counting" - A photograph dedicated to my wife... on our recent 6 years wedding anniversary. :)

===
 "Red" - taken a couple of years ago when I was just starting to realize my love for photography.

===

"I belong right here... with YOU" - Also dedicated to my gorgeous wife.

====

"Colours" - A simple shot... I've always wanted to take photos of coloured pencils... I don't know why! But I love this one... :)

That's it for now.....
